Since April, retailers and brands on the OTTO marketplace have been able to sell their goods via the platform. They can connect automatically via a self-service and sell their products on otto.de within two to three days. odc has been selected as the preferred service provider for fulfillment handling. OTTO is driving forward the transformation to the platform with great commitment. Currently, around 500 partners are using the OTTO marketplace, and a further 1,000 are to be added by the end of the year.
Optimisation for the platform
As soon as merchants and brands have completed the registration process, they can use the OTTO Partner Connect (OPC) self-service as a control centre. Here, they can find all the important information at a glance and can concentrate on selling their products. Via the portal, they can manage articles and check the order status, as well as run sales analyses to optimise their product range and book advertising measures.
Flexible booking of fulfillment solution
In addition to automated onboarding, automated order processing and related fulfillment services also play an important role in setting up the marketplace. In order to sell on the OTTO marketplace as a retailer, you need existing end customer logistics. To keep this entry barrier for merchants low, OTTO decided early on launching a pilot project together with odc. The goal: the odc team takes over the entire order processing from storage, packaging, shipping to returns handling. One of the first pilot partners was the young Hamburg fashion label Souleway, which has been selling its products via the OTTO marketplace since March. After successfully completing the pilot phase, OTTO decided to offer odc as a fulfillment option within OPC.
Inhouse Company Building with success
Due to the very good and close cooperation odc was able to connect to the interfaces in OPC as a strategic fulfillment partner in a very short time. odc now ensures that the orders of the dealers are processed automatically. “We are very satisfied with the efficient and highly professional work of the odc team. The cooperation shows how we can leverage synergies between the start-up and the group and at the same time create added value for our partners,” says Timo Kleinke, Senior Business Development Manager at OTTO Market.
